Realistic sunset
Categories: Photo effects
Ever wanted to make a photo taken in the middle of the day look like it was taken late in the evening? This tutorial will show you how to create this illusion by adding a sunset to a picture.
Step 1
To be able to follow this tutorial you will need two pictures, the first image is the one that you want to add the illusion of a sunset to, and the second image should be an actual picture of a sunset.
Bellow you can se the two pictures that I have chosen to work with in this tutorial.
Step 2
Start out by opening both images in Photoshop.
You should now be in the image that you want to add a sunset to.
Choose Image > Adjustments > Match Color and you will get a dialog that looks like the one you can see bellow.
In Image Statistics > Source you select the image containing the sunset. If Preview is not crossed you should cross it. Now your image should have changed colors and look like it was taken late in the day. If the effect is to strong which it sometimes can be you have to use the Fade slider to correct this.
I corrected my fade to 30 and also changed Color Intensity to 150.
