This Photoshop tutorial will teach you how to retouch a models skin to get that magazine cover look for your photos. The art of retouching is pretty much about removing skin imperfections to get e smooth and even skin. Let’s dive in and get one step closer to the perfect model photo.
The original image

Step 1.
Open up the picture. You may want to duplicate the current layer so that you have the original image as the bottom layer.
Step 2.
Use the Spot Healing Brush Tool to remove all blemishes and spots.

Step 3.
Duplicate the layer.
Step 4.
Apply the filter "Dust & Scratches"  (Filter>Noise> Dust & Scratches)
I used a Radius of 4 px and Treshold of 0 px on this image. It all depends on the image though so you may need to experiment with the values.

Step 5.
Apply the filter "Gaussian Blur" (Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur). I used a radius of 2 px on this image, but it all depends on the image. What you want is a smooth skin.

Step 6.
To make the skin more natural looking you need to add a little bit of noise (Filter > Noise > Add Noise)
On this image I used about 1% uniform noise.

Step 7.
Add a layer mask (Layer > Layer Mask > Hide All ) And use the brush tool to "paint" her skin so that it gets soft and smooth.

Step 8.
Experiment with the layer opacity of the "smooth" layer so that it feels natural.
In this case I use a layer opacity of 70%.
